We're Hiring: Associate Attorney – Fort Lauderdale Office
South Florida's litigation dockets move fast, and clients evaluating outside counsel increasingly want to know one thing upfront: can this attorney actually stand up in front of a judge and argue the motion, or are they just signing the pleadings? Firms across Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties are competing hard for litigators who can operate independently in the courtroom, not just at the negotiating table — courts are moving matters faster, clients expect firsthand hearing experience, and there are more open litigation seats than there are attorneys who can fill them without hand-holding. The Elliot Legal Group, P.A. is adding to its litigation team to meet that demand, and we're opening a search for an Associate Attorney to join us full-time at our Fort Lauderdale office. This is not a remote or hybrid role, and it isn't an entry-level one — we need someone with real litigation mileage who can pick up a caseload, appear at hearings independently, and start contributing right away. This post lays out exactly what the role pays, what we require, and how to apply.
What will the role actually involve day to day?
You'll handle civil litigation matters from intake through resolution — appearing at hearings, arguing motions and evidentiary matters independently, and working directly with clients across business, real estate, and commercial disputes. Drafting is a core part of the job: complaints, motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment and other dispositive and non-dispositive motions, discovery requests and responses, and opposition briefs all come through this seat regularly, not occasionally. The position carries an annual billable hours target of 1,600 hours and is based full-time at our Fort Lauderdale office, with regular travel to hearings throughout South Florida, including Broward, Miami-Dade, and Palm Beach counties.
What does compensation look like?
$75,000 to $85,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Origination bonus: 10% of revenue collected on client matters originated by the attorney independent of firm resources and marketing, payable pursuant to a separate written compensation agreement.
Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and professional development assistance, which covers continuing legal education costs.
